CEAST product range for rheological investigation on polymers include several instrument and in particular a Modular Line of Melt Indexer, specifically designed for the easy and accurate measuring of the Melt Flow Rate (MFR) and Melt Volume Rate (MVR), fundamental properties of any thermoplastic material. 

Melt Flow Quick Index

A compact instrument for melt flow testing of thermoplastic materials using a simple test procedure according to "Method A" (MFR: g/10 min) of the international standards (ISO and ASTM). The constant temperature throughout the instrument’s oven is its strength, allowing high reproducibility of results.

Modular Melt Flow

A melt indexer with a modular base for the automatic measurement of MFR (g/10 min) and MVR (cm³/10 min) at temperatures from 30°C to 400°C (optionally 500°C). The basic instrument has a microprocessor for automatic control of operations, storage of up to 40 measurement points and up to 25 full test procedures. Standard functions include auto-calibration, calculation and display of rheological data, operative checks and alarms, security passwords, and a USB port for printer connection. Optional equipment can be added to the base, either at time of purchase or at a later date, directly by the customer at their location. Options include an encoder for measuring piston travel, a weight lifter, and an automatic extrudate cutting device. Can be used with CEAST VisualMELT software.

Melt Flow Multiweight 7027 

Advanced melt indexer featuring weight sets for multiple weight tests during a single test event, sample compacting and purging with a known force, and a programmable final purge. This evolution of melt flow testing (a single test can be performed with one, two or three test weights) generates interesting rheological data including the shear sensitivity and the initial points of the rheological curve. Using our VISUALMELT software, this information is automatically calculated and put in graphical form. 

Advanced Melt Flow Multiweight 7028

The latest development in terms of melt index tests according to MFR and MVR procedures, for single weight and multiple weight determinations in one test. Multiple weight tests can include up to 5 masses in any sequence (including decreasing and increasing weight), with fully customizable preheating and measurement steps. All masses are pre-installed and managed by the machine without manipulation by the operator. High resolution encoder for piston displacement, stable and precise temperature profile in the barrel.
